Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on Xbox Series X|S Has Been Postponed Again
Unfortunately, we still have a long wait before Warhammer 40,000: Darktide becomes available on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as part of Xbox Game Pass.
The creator of Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Fatshark, apologized on Twitter for the current state of the PC (and PC Game Pass) version and promised to make significant changes in response to player feedback.
“Over the next few months, our sole focus is to address the feedback that many of you have. In particular, we will focus on delivering a complete crafting system, a more rewarding progression loop, and continue to work on game stability and performance optimization.”
As a result, the development team has decided to push back the release of the Xbox One X and Xbox One S versions of the game and several in-game cosmetics, though no new release dates have been announced.
“This also means that we will delay our seasonal content rollout and the Xbox Series X/S launch. We will also suspend the upcoming releases of premium cosmetics. We just couldn’t continue down this path, knowing that we have not addressed many feedback areas in the game today.”
We’re still holding out hope that we’ll see Warhammer 40,000: Darktide this year on consoles after it was announced for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with PC) at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020 with a release window of 2021, but this setback indicates a late 2023 release is looking the most likely scenario at this point.
