Let’s look at how you may get to Elden Ring’s snow area now that we understand what it is. You may reach it without battling Malenia by defeating Morgot, The Omen King and obtaining the Rold Medallion.

In order to obtain the item, you must rest and speak with Melina, your maiden, at the Site of Grace on the battlefield. Afterward, you may go to the Grand Lift of Rold and ascend to this area. However, there is an alternative – secret – route to get in.

First, you must collect the two parts of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to enter the secret area and battle Malenia. The Albinaurics village can be found in Liurnia of the Lakes.

On your journey around the lake, you will encounter a village. The Albinaurics Village Site of Grace is the first one you will reach. From this site, follow the road up the hill on the right and keep going until you see a big container on the right. Many enemies will be waiting for you in this area, but they should not be too difficult to handle since it is a relatively low-level area.

There is an NPC hidden inside that large pot over there (like Alexander). Attack it twice, and it will disappear, granting you the medallion half. You may choose to either listen to his tale or kill him.

In the second half, you must go to Castle Sol in the Stargazer’s Ruins. When you arrive at the Castle Sol Main Gate Site of Grace, use the northern bridge. You will meet fierce adversaries here, so be prepared for them.

Activate the Site of Grace and head straight; you will find a doorway. Go up the stairs and see a structure on your right side. Enter the building and take the elevator to the top. When you reach the top, head outside to the stairs and collect the item on the ground. You will be awarded the medallion’s second portion when you accomplish this.

It’s not as simple as it sounds. Before you may collect this product, you must first vanquish Commander Niall. He is exceedingly difficult, so you must use everything at your disposal to destroy him. After he is dead, you may then collect the medallion.

You can either use the Rold Medallion or the D-pad on the Grand Lift of Rold to obtain the “Hoist secret medallion” option. After the cutscene, you will be taken to the Hidden Path of the Haligtree, which is in the Forbidden Lands to the east of Leyndell. You must head there if you don’t know where the lift is.

Make your way through the Hidden Path until you locate some stairs on your left. There, you will find enemies, so be careful. If you prefer not to battle all the enemies in this region, you may simply sprint past them and reach the snow region.

After fighting or avoiding the enemy at the stairs, you must proceed directly and climb another flight. You will see a door that leads to the snow area, but if you get too close, one of those large crab monsters will drop. You can dodge by rolling if ready for this ambush and avoid conflict altogether.

Alternatively, you may choose to take on the challenge if you feel prepared. Whether you decide to battle it or not, enter the door and climb the stairs. At the top, you’ll discover a Hall of Grace, signifying that you’ve arrived at the snow area. Now, journey across this place as you like and battle the monsters. However, these monsters are quite powerful, so you must be careful.

To finish the map, we must locate the snow area map fragment. As you might have already figured out, the map fragments allow you to see the area clearly and identify all major landmarks on the map. Otherwise, your map will be a brown portion that does not reveal any routes or anything else.

When you reach the Site of Grace after navigating the Hidden Path, you will see a path leading to the map fragment. These fragments are identified by an icon on your map. Open your map and place a marker on this icon to reach it more easily. As you walk down the path, your view will improve. Eventually, you will find the fragment. Collect it to fully reveal the snow area so you can explore it properly.
