Dragon's Dogma 2 First Trailer Released

Dragon’s Dogma 2: First Trailer Released, Reveals Stunning Graphics and New Gameplay

The long-awaited trailer for the sequel to Dragon’s Dogma has arrived.

The new trailer showcased various fantastical beasts, from a dragon roaring over a castle ruin to a medusa. Combat was also heavily featured, suggesting that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be more faithful to the original game than might at first be assumed. It will be playable on the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Director Hideaki Itsuno revealed its existence during a summer 2017 Livestream celebrating ten years since the release of the original 2012 action RPG Dragon’s Dogma, but since then, details have been scarce. The RE Engine is being used to create it.

While Dragon’s Dogma isn’t one of Capcom’s most well-known properties, it has a dedicated fan base thanks to the game’s flexible combat and memorable boss fights. Fans were already excited about the sequel to last year, but news that it was in the works came from a massive Capcom data breach.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, an enhanced edition, was released for PC in 2016, PS4 and Xbox One in 2017, and Nintendo Switch in 2019. This marks the first new mainline Dragon’s Dogma game in over a decade. Dragon’s Dogma Online, a massively multiplayer online game, launched for it in 2015. However, it was only available in Japan and closed in 2019.

Dragon’s Dogma was deemed a “strange game” by IGN, who gave it a 7.5/10, writing, “It does some courageous and interesting things, but it also feels unfinished, with technical problems that often spoil things.”
