Baldur’s Gate 3 Team Details Upcoming Patch and Hotfix Plans

There is a lot going on.

Players of Baldur’s Gate 3 now have a better idea of what to anticipate from the upcoming updates, thanks to Larian Studios’ Swen Vincke.

Although Baldur’s Gate 3 is a giant hit with both critics and players, it is not without flaws.

The game has already received three Hotfixes from Larian Studios that address various bugs and make minor adjustments. For instance, Hotfix 2 fixed a few crash and save problems while also ensuring that specific characters were properly covered. However, the creator has hinted in the past that more significant changes are on the way.

Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian and director of Baldur’s Gate 3, has now provided players with a brief roadmap of what to anticipate from the game’s upcoming updates.

Vincke thanked followers for their feedback in a tweet before providing an update on what Larian has planned for Baldur’s Gate 3.

While no information on the contents of the updates or their release date was provided, this did set expectations for what was to come.

According to Vincke, Larian’s current priority is to fix any immediate issues players are experiencing and squash more bugs with Hotfix 4.

It appears that the Patches will be more thorough, with Patch 1 having “+1000 fixes and tweaks.” Larian will be able to move on to Patch 2, which is said to add some changes fans have been requesting since launch, after fixing these issues.

One of these will probably be the feature that, according to Larian’s Director of Publishing Michael Douse, is “being cooked,” which will let players change a character’s appearance after they begin the game.

While Baldur’s Gate 3 DLC is still a way off, if it ever materializes at all, it’s obvious Larian intends to support the game for a very long time.
